Cheese Wheel Dreams

My husband's stream of consciousness:

"One day, when we've paid off debt, we'll spend 100's of dollars on groceries.

... And we'll buy whole wheels of cheese.

... And I'll just sit there eating a wheel.

... And you'll be like "watcha doin'?" 

... And I'll be like "just eating this wheel."

... You call 'em wheels of cheese, right?"

Reasons to judge me

The ASDA home delivery man hands me the little touch screen gadget where I'm supposed to sign.

"If you could just sign this, use your, um.... fingernail?" he says uncertainly, glancing not-so-covertly at my chomped and unmanicured fingers.

I sign it, then scurry off to contemplate my grooming skills. Or lack thereof.

Hmph.

Small things I don't want to forget

I used all the coins in my wallet to buy a little orange jug from a charity shop.

The girl gently wrapped it in old newspaper before she handed it to me.

I washed off the newsprint and set a tray for tea.

...

Even when I don't have to count out coins any more, I hope small things still make me this content.
